The primary goals of Maison Emmanuel’s theater workshop are to increase skills, improve coordination and concentration, develop diverse means of communication and encourage self-confidence and pride. Not just therapeutic, the workshop strives to allow the expression and development of natural talents.

The theater workshop also sees itself as representative of the philosophy of Maison Emmanuel, of its ties with nature and with the rituals that identify the cycles, from autumn to the following summer. Throughout the years, we have developed a theater, at once physical, poetic and fanciful, which is a testimony to the authentic human contribution of intellectually handicapped persons to society.



Usually, the public presentations of the works take place outdoors, the local landscape as backdrop for the stage, using but the simplest means, relying on the power of evocation. An unstable teamwork, it moves as a parade, interspersed with living tableaus, under the big top of the sky.

We firmly believe that by promoting their cultural development, we are improving the self-actualization and happiness of our villagers. Of course, we wish to encourage everyone but also to participate in the growth, for everyone’s pleasure and for the development of those villagers who manifest the potential. Those who so desire may enroll in the workshop consisting of a half day per week on a half yearly basis.
